Life-saving therapies, such as cancer treatments, can jeopardize fertility down the road. We can give you advice on options to increase the chance of pregnancy after completing therapy.

Treating your underlying condition is of utmost priority and should not be delayed. Therefore, in such situations, we offer immediate appointments (usually within two days) to provide you with optimal guidance.

The treatment strategies include:

• Ovarian stimulation with retrieval and cryopreservation of eggs

• Cryopreservation of ovarian tissue

• Cryopreservation of sperm and/or testicular tissue

• Pharmacological suppression of ovarian function during chemotherapy

 

Cryopreservation involves preserving cells or tissue by freezing them in liquid nitrogen. These therapies are carried out in close collaboration with the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, which is a network center of “Fertisave” and “Fertiprotekt”.
