PREIMPLANTATION GENETIC TESTING
PGT
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is a genetic examination of embryos performed before transfer to the uterus as part of an ICSI treatment. It may help increase the chances of a healthy pregnancy and reduce the risk of miscarriage or genetic abnormalities. In Switzerland, PGT is strictly regulated by law.
PGT-A is a method used to detect chromosomal abnormalities in embryos. As chromosomal changes become more common with increasing maternal age and may affect embryo implantation and pregnancy development, PGT-A can be a helpful option particularly for women over the age of 38, after recurrent miscarriages, or following a previous pregnancy affected by a chromosomal abnormality.
